Book Cover Design by Brion

December1st

I’ve developed several author websites/blogs in my time for clients, but writing has never been a strong suit for me, and although I’m always coming up with new business ideas, I never seem to get around to developing them much beyond the concept stage.

Long story short, a friend of mine suggested that some of my ideas had merit and that instead of letting them sit and gather cobwebs, I should try to find others who might be inclined to develop the sites. I’m not sure if I’m looking to partner on the development or just sell them outright, but either way I’ll post the links and see what comes of it.

I’ve got half a dozen different site concepts, but here’s the first: TUFFERSTUFF

This idea came about mostly because of my own preferences in clothes and gadgets – utilitarian and durable. I’ve traveled a lot in my time, and over the years I developed an appreciation for traveling light, yet having what I needed for various occasion’s or circumstances I might encounter away from home. I learned that Pareto’s 80/20 principle applied to my wardrobe and that I was getting the most use and enjoyment out of about 20% of the stuff in my closet.

The idea behind this website was that there are lots of guys out there who would enjoy wearing a GSA issue watch or a 1940’s vintage military sweater and paying far less than they would for comparable products. The manufacturers or sellers will pay a commission on business you send them, so if you enjoy hunting for bargains and interesting stuff – and can write objective reviews about it – this could be for you.

There are 3 other domains that go with tufferstuff.com: tougherstuff.com which just points to the main site, then there’s TUFFERMEN which I thought might be a nifty idea as sort of a “sister” site for original content that could feed visitors to TUFFERSTUFF. I also have the domain toughermen.com which of course points to tuffermen.com.
