annuity_thumbGo to Google and start a search by typing “what is an” and you’ll notice that among the top ten searches is “what is an annuity” – and I understand why. Annuities are complex financial instruments that seem incomprehensible to most of us, or rather did, I should say. Author James Matthew Edwards knows annuities better than most, and shares what he’s learned in his 25 years of professional experience in easy to understand language that will have you kicking yourself if you aren’t already taking full advantage of “compound interest” and establishing a safe and secure retirement income using the annuity.

Due for a January, 2010 release, The Financial Insider’s Annuity Guide is a must read financial book!

Gudo Nishijima Roshi book cover designThe Buddhism which emerges from To Meet the Real Dragon is not a Buddhism for gods or supermen. It is Buddhism for real people: ordinary human beings with ordinary human problems. It is humanistic Zen–Zen for human beings.

Gudo Nishijima Roshi was born in Yokohama, Japan, in 1919, and began practicing zazen as a teenager. He studied Buddhism under Master Kodo Sawaki for twenty years, and was later ordained as a priest by the late Master Rempo Niwa, formerly head of the Soto School of Japanese Buddhism. For four decades he gave regular lectures and instructions on zazen practice at various places in Japan and overseas. He retired from lecturing in 2005, and now devotes his time to his writing. He also publishes a blog about Buddhism and current events.
