I charge a flat fee for my custom cover designs and use only royalty-free images and licensed fonts so you never have to worry about copyright infringements with my cover designs. What I can’t deliver for these prices are custom hand drawn illustrations or perform a custom photo shoot - those items require an estimate which I will happily provide you upon request.

Information I’ll need to complete your project

The design process really begins with you telling me what your tastes are. The best way to be sure we are both on the same page is to tell me what covers that are out right now that you particularly like. It’s just a matter of visiting Amazon.com or your preferred bookseller and making a note of the title and author (or better yet, the books’ ISBN) of covers you admire that fit the theme of your book. I’m not going to copy them, it just gives me an idea of what you’re imagining for your cover.

I’ll need the following information:

• For Jackets and Covers:
  Title, subtitle, and author information
  Trim size (example: 5.5×8.5,6×9,etc)
  Cover text and/or blurbs you want on your cover
  Page count (to determine spine size)
  Trade (paperback) or dust jacket (hardcover)
  ISBN and retail price (some publishers prefer to add these and imprint logo themselves)
  Publisher name and any specific design rules or printer specifications that may apply

• For your print-ready marketing materials:
  Content text or caption you want to include for each item
  Any additional artwork or photography you want included (in addition to your books’ cover)
  Website address (URL) and e-mail address you wish to include
  Phone number if you wish to include one

• Your contact information (it’s safe, I won’t share it with anyone!):
  Your name
  Your mailing address
  Your telephone number
  Your e-mail address

You can supply your text and images on disk, by e-mail, or if you prefer I’ll supply you with directions and a password to upload your materials to me on my project server. I work best with MS Word files, but you can also send your text as a “plain text” e-mail to: Brion@bookcreatives.com
